About Writing

I would describe academic writing as a rigorous and rewarding process of gathering scattered thoughts and assembling them into a text that is so coherent and ordered that others can clearly understand the ideas you intend to communicate. Hard work it certainly is, but writing about ideas that genuinely matter to you makes the process well worthwhile.

You can expect that by the end of the course you will have a firm base from which to continue to develop your competence in writing and to refine your style and your approach to the process.

About Goals

If you are taking the course so that you can write better, I am teaching the course so that you can write better.
